Monterrey Crushes Querétaro in Thrilling Liga MX Match
Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico – Monterrey secured a convincing 4-2 victory over Club Querétaro in a thrilling match at the Estadio Corregidora on February 16th. The game, part of the Clausura 2024 Liga MX, showcased a dominant performance from Monterrey, despite a late rally from the home side.
Monterrey controlled possession (55%) and capitalized on their scoring chances. J. Corona opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, followed by goals from R. Chávez (11′) and G. Berterame (25′), giving Monterrey a commanding three-goal lead. Querétaro struggled to find the back of the net, managing only 9 shots with just 3 on target.
Querétaro pulled one back in the second half through J. Canale Domínguez’s goal in the 69th minute, assisted by D. J. Colman Escobar. However, Monterrey’s O. Torres quickly restored their three-goal advantage with a goal in the 76th minute. A late goal by A. Preciado in the 90th minute wasn’t enough for Querétaro to close the gap.
