Sudtirol Thrashes Cittadella in a High-Scoring Serie B Match
Sudtirol achieved a resounding 5-1 victory over Cittadella at the Stadio Pier Cesare Tombolato in a Serie B match played on March 9th, 2025. The game, part of the 29th round of the Italian league, saw Sudtirol dominate despite lower possession.
A. Barreca opened the scoring for Sudtirol in the 58th minute. This was quickly followed by an own goal by E. Matino in the 59th minute. D. Casiraghi added a third for Sudtirol in the 61st minute, assisted by S. Molina. Substitute A. Giorgini scored twice, in the 71st and 76th minutes, the latter assisted by N. Pyyhtia, completing the rout.
Cittadella managed a consolation goal in the 90th minute through J. Desogus, but it was too little, too late.
