Crewe Alexandra defeated Chesterfield in a thrilling match at the SMH Group Stadium in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The game, part of the English League Two’s 34th round, ended with a 4-1 victory for the visiting team.
Crewe Alexandra took an early lead with goals from S. Tracey in the 11th minute and M. Conway in the 22nd minute. Chesterfield responded with a yellow card to P. Madden in the 40th minute, and although they tried to fight back, Crewe’s effectiveness was greater. In the final stages of the match, D. Duffy scored for Chesterfield in the 87th minute, but Crewe responded with a goal from T. Lowery in the 90th minute, sealing the victory. The match was marked by tension, with three yellow cards for Chesterfield and one for Crewe in the closing minutes. Despite Chesterfield’s greater possession (65%), Crewe showed more effectiveness, making 16 shots (6 on target) compared to Chesterfield’s 18 (4 on target).
