NorthEast United FC Thrashes Chennaiyin FC in Chennai
Chennai, March 3, 2025.- NorthEast United FC convincingly defeated Chennaiyin FC 3-0 in a match played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, corresponding to matchday 25 of the 2024 Indian Super League season. The match was marked by the visiting team’s superiority and offensive efficiency.
Goals came in the first half, with scores from N. Albiach (7th minute), J. Madathil (26th minute), and A. Ajaraie (38th minute). Ajaraie, in addition to scoring, was the team’s star assister, participating in two of the three goals. Chennaiyin, on the other hand, dominated possession (60%) but lacked effectiveness in front of goal, with only 6 of their 16 shots on target. Frustration was reflected in the home team’s discipline, accumulating four yellow cards and a red card for R. Edwards in the final minutes.
