Chelsea Crushes Leicester 2-0 at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea comfortably defeated Leicester City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in London on March 9th, 2025, in a Premier League matchday 28 encounter. The scoreline, however, doesn’t fully capture Chelsea’s dominance.
Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a bizarre own-goal from a missed penalty, assisting himself. Marc Cucurella added the second in the 60th minute, expertly assisted by Enzo Fernandez.
Chelsea dominated possession (57% to Leicester’s 43%), and shots on target (6 to 3), showcasing their control of the match. Leicester offered little resistance and rarely threatened the Chelsea goal. Chelsea had 19 shots in total, with 6 on target, compared to Leicester’s 3 shots on target. The corner count also highlighted Chelsea’s superiority (12 to 2). Referee Tim Robinson, from England, oversaw a game that Chelsea deservedly won.
