Universidad Católica defeats Cerro Largo in a thrilling match in Montevideo
Montevideo, May 7, 2025 – Universidad Católica secured a 3-1 victory against Cerro Largo in a CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage match played at the Estadio Centenario. The match, refereed by Ivo Nigel Mendez Chavez from Bolivia, was a dynamic encounter with chances for both teams.
Católica dominated possession (60%) and created more scoring opportunities (11 shots, 6 on target), while Cerro Largo, despite having less possession (40%), also had their chances (9 shots, 1 on target).
