Anderlecht thrashed Cercle Brugge in an exciting match
Anderlecht beat Cercle Brugge by a convincing 5-0 in a Jupiler Pro League match played at the Jan Breydelstadion in Bruges.
Anderlecht’s dominance was evident from the start, with 61% possession and a more effective attacking game. The first goal came in the 18th minute, scored by K. Dolberg after an assist from S. Edozie.
The second half began with a penalty for Anderlecht in the 60th minute, which K. Dolberg converted confidently. The visiting team were not content with the victory and continued to press, scoring three more goals in the 72nd, 75th and 90th minutes. T. Leoni, K. Dolberg (his third goal) and L. Vazquez were the scorers.
Cercle Brugge, for their part, showed few attacking ideas and were outmatched in all aspects of the game. The expulsion of I. Diakite in the 83rd minute was a blow for the home team, who were unable to react to the superiority of their rival.
Anderlecht consolidates their position in the top half of the table thanks to this resounding victory, while Cercle Brugge sinks into the bottom half of the standings.
