Central Córdoba Secures Home Victory Against Unión in Thrilling Match
Santiago del Estero witnessed a vibrant match in the Liga Profesional Argentina where Central Córdoba de Santiago defeated Unión de Santa Fe at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades. The match, refereed by Andrés Gariano, kept fans on the edge of their seats from the initial whistle to the final one.
The first goal came in the 35th minute when J. Galvan, assisted by L. Heredia, opened the scoring for the home team. The first half was also marked by yellow cards for N. Palavecino of Unión (30′) and S. Moyano of Central Córdoba (45′).
In the second half, L. Besozzi extended Central Córdoba’s lead in the 62nd minute, again with an assist from L. Heredia, consolidating the dominance of the Santiago team. Unión, however, did not give up, and A. Colazo reduced the deficit in the 79th minute, following an assist from M. Pitton, giving hope to the visitors.
The match became even more dramatic in added time. M. Perello sealed the victory for Central Córdoba in the 90th minute, although he received a yellow card after the goal. The end of the match also saw yellow cards for N. Funez and V. Fascendini.
Regarding the statistics, Unión maintained ball possession with 57% compared to Central Córdoba’s 43%. However, Central Córdoba’s effectiveness was reflected in the 10 shots taken, two of which were on target, against Unión’s 8 shots, with three on target. Both teams had 3 corners. The match was hard-fought, with 9 fouls committed by Central Córdoba and 15 by Unión.
