Lincoln Clinches Narrow Victory at Pirelli Stadium
Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire – Lincoln City secured all three points from the Pirelli Stadium in a hard-fought match against Burton Albion. Despite Burton Albion’s dominance in possession (65%), it was Lincoln who managed to capitalize on their opportunity in the 22nd minute, with a goal by S. Bradley following an assist from T. Bayliss.
The match was intense in midfield, reflected in the yellow cards shown. C. McGrandles and A. Jackson from Lincoln saw yellow in the first half, while B. House joined the list in the second half. Burton Albion, for their part, also collected cards towards the end of the encounter.
Despite Burton Albion’s efforts, which saw them produce numerous shots (16 in total), only two found the target, reflecting the defensive solidity shown by Lincoln. Lincoln, with less possession (35%), were able to take advantage of their chances and defend their lead to secure an important away victory.
