Elche snatched a victory against Burgos at the Estadio Municipal de El Plantío. The match, corresponding to round 38 of the Segunda División, ended with a narrow 0-1 scoreline. Despite Elche enjoying greater possession (57%), the game was tense and punctuated by numerous yellow cards. Burgos accumulated five yellow cards (Burgos, Curro, Cordoba, Sancris and Arroyo), while Elche received three (Febas, Salinas and Valera). Scoring chances were limited for both teams, with Elche recording slightly more shots (6 vs 7) but with less accuracy. The winning goal arrived in the 87th minute thanks to a goal from Mercau, assisted by Josan, breaking the goalless draw and sealing the victory for the Elche side.
