Republic of Ireland Edges Out Bulgaria in Thrilling Nations League Encounter
Plovdiv, Bulgaria – The Republic of Ireland secured a victory over Bulgaria in a hard-fought UEFA Nations League match at the Stadion Hristo Botev in Plovdiv. The game, a B/C playoff match of the 2024 UEFA Nations League, ended with a 2-1 scoreline in favour of the Irish.
Bulgaria took the early lead with a goal from M. Petkov in the 6th minute, assisted by F. Krastev. However, the Republic of Ireland fought back, scoring two goals in the first half through F. Azaz (21st minute) and M. Doherty (42nd minute).
