Bucaramanga Edges Out Santa Fe in a Tense Match
Bucaramanga, Colombia – In a hard-fought match at the Estadio Américo Montanini, Bucaramanga secured a victory against Santa Fe in a game defined by intensity and cards. The lone goal of the match came early, in the 16th minute, courtesy of L. Pons, who capitalized on an assist from F. Sambueza to put the home side ahead.
Despite dominating possession with 62% compared to Santa Fe’s 38%, Bucaramanga only managed one shot, which failed to hit the target. The match became more challenging for Bucaramanga in the 42nd minute with the dismissal of G. Charrupi, forcing them to play with ten men for the majority of the game.
Santa Fe, although with less possession, failed to create any dangerous chances, finishing the match without a single shot on target. The referee issued several yellow cards towards the end of the match to players from both teams, highlighting the tension on the field. The game ended with numerous cautions for Bucaramanga, including N. Moreno, L. Pons, L. E. Vasquez Caicedo, J. Mena, and A. Quintana, as well as one for E. Olivera of Santa Fe.
