BSC Young Boys Stage Thrilling Comeback in Bern
BSC Young Boys secured a vibrant home victory against Ludogorets in a UEFA Europa League match held at the Stadion Wankdorf in Bern. Despite Ludogorets taking an early lead in the 26th minute with a goal by P. Stanic, assisted by B. Tekpetey, Young Boys demonstrated their strength and resilience.
R. Raveloson equalized for Young Boys just before halftime, in the 45th minute, with an assist from R. Andrews. In the second half, the home team took control of the game. C. Fassnacht put Young Boys ahead in the 53rd minute, thanks to a pass from E. Fernandes. The lead was extended in the 63rd minute with a penalty converted by C. Bedia.
Ludogorets, despite having less ball possession (41% compared to Young Boys’ 59%), did not give up and fought until the end. I. Yordanov scored a goal in the 90th minute, narrowing the gap, but it was not enough to avoid defeat. The match ended with a total of 15 shots for each team, although Young Boys showed greater accuracy with 6 shots on target compared to Ludogorets’ 4. The referee cautioned Caio Vidal of Ludogorets and F. Tsimba and C. Fassnacht of Young Boys.
