Macarthur FC Rout Brisbane Roar in Thrilling Encounter in Brisbane
Macarthur FC secured a commanding 5-1 victory over Brisbane Roar in a match played at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Despite slightly higher possession for Macarthur (54% vs 46%), the game was a back-and-forth affair. Abubakar opened the scoring for the Roar in the 27th minute, but Macarthur responded strongly. Jakolis scored two goals (44th and 55th minutes), both assisted by Khaoui, to turn the game around before halftime. In the second half, Macarthur continued their dominance, with Hollman scoring in the 68th minute and Jakolis completing his hat-trick in the 73rd. Sawyer added a late goal in the 90th minute. Despite Brisbane Roar’s 16 shots (4 on target), Macarthur’s efficiency, with 9 shots on target from 16 attempts, proved decisive.
