Bradford Dominates Possession but Tranmere Secures Victory in Tense Encounter
Bradford City and Tranmere Rovers clashed at the University of Bradford Stadium yesterday in a League Two matchday 37 fixture. Despite dominating possession (66% vs 34%), Bradford couldn’t convert their dominance into goals, falling to a Tranmere side that capitalized on their one clear opportunity.
The match was a tense affair, with a total of 29 fouls committed between both teams. Bradford accumulated three yellow cards (Lapslie, Byrne, and Baldwin), while Tranmere received just one (O’Connor). The home side managed 15 shots, but only two were on target. Tranmere, in contrast, had 3 shots, 2 of which were on target. A 55th-minute penalty converted by J. Hawkes secured a narrow 0-1 victory for the visitors, who proved more clinical despite Bradford’s possession advantage. Bradford’s lack of finishing ultimately cost them in a surprising defeat against a more efficient Tranmere.
