Bolton Defeats Plymouth in Tactical Clash
Bolton, August 9, 2025 – The Toughsheet Community Stadium saw a home victory for Bolton Wanderers against Plymouth Argyle in a match marked by intensity and strategy. Despite Plymouth’s greater possession (61%), Bolton capitalized on their opportunities to secure the three points.
The game opened in the 20th minute with a goal from E. Toal, assisted by J. Sheehan, following a well-executed team play. Bolton managed to defend their lead, although the game became more physical, reflected in the yellow cards to G. Johnston and J. Sheehan for Bolton.
In the second half, M. Burstow extended Bolton’s lead in the 60th minute, with an assist from A. Cozier-Duberry, dealing a near-fatal blow to Plymouth.
