Bengaluru FC defeats Goa FC in thrilling semi-final clash
Bangalore, India – Bengaluru FC secured a 2-0 victory over Goa FC in a captivating Indian Super League 2024 semi-final match played at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on April 2nd, 2025. Despite Goa dominating possession (57%), Bengaluru proved more clinical in front of goal. An own goal by Sandesh Jhingan in the 42nd minute and a strike by Emanuel Méndez in the 52nd minute secured the win for the home side. Goa had more shots (18 vs 9), but only two were on target, compared to Bengaluru’s 5 out of 9. Both teams received one yellow card each: C. McHugh for Goa and R. Williams for Bengaluru. The match, officiated by Aditya Purkayastha, was a fiercely contested affair, leaving Bengaluru in a strong position heading into the final.
