Benfica Edges out Guimaraes in a Close Encounter at Estádio da Luz
Lisbon, December 7th, 2024 – Benfica secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Vitória de Guimarães in a tightly contested Primeira Liga match at the Estádio da Luz. K. Akturkoglu scored the only goal of the game in the 29th minute, assisted by V. Pavlidis. The match was a physical affair, with a total of 21 fouls committed. Benfica controlled possession (55%), but Guimarães created more goal-scoring opportunities (10 shots to Benfica’s 8). Despite the possession advantage, Benfica only managed one shot on target.
