Belgium Thrashes Ukraine in UEFA Nations League Match
Belgium secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Ukraine in a UEFA Nations League 2024 Play-offs A/B match held at the Cegeka Arena in Genk on March 23rd, 2025. German referee Daniel Siebert officiated the game.
Belgium controlled the game, enjoying 70% possession. While Ukraine accumulated five yellow cards (I. Zabarnyi, O. Zinchenko, O. Gutsulyak, V. Vanat, and H. Vanaken), Belgium’s dominance translated into a comfortable win. Belgium received only one yellow card (N. Raskin).
The goals came in the second half. M. De Cuyper opened the scoring in the 70th minute, assisted by J. Doku. R. Lukaku added two goals in the 76th and 86th minutes, assisted by K. De Bruyne and H. Vanaken respectively, sealing the victory for Belgium. Belgium had 19 shots (6 on target), while Ukraine managed only 6 (1 on target). Corner kicks were also significantly different: 10 for Belgium and just 1 for Ukraine.
