AFC Wimbledon staged a thrilling comeback against Barrow at the SO Legal Stadium in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria this Saturday, November 16th at 3 PM. The match, part of the League Two’s 16th round of the 2024 season, ended in an exciting 3-1 victory for the away team.
Barrow dominated possession (62%) and opened the scoring in the 44th minute with a goal from A. Dallas. However, AFC Wimbledon responded forcefully in the second half. J. Pigott put the visitors ahead in the 2nd minute, later receiving a yellow card in the 27th minute. M. Stevens became the match hero, scoring two goals in the 76th and 77th minutes, sealing the win for AFC Wimbledon. The game was marked by its intensity, with a total of 13 fouls and 6 yellow cards distributed between both teams. Although Barrow generated more goal-scoring opportunities (9 shots to 8), AFC Wimbledon’s effectiveness in the second half was decisive for the victory.
