Yamal Shines as Barcelona Triumphs at Camp Nou
Barcelona, Spain – Camp Nou witnessed a stellar performance from Lamine Yamal, who scored a crucial hat-trick in Barcelona’s victory over Villarreal. The young Catalan forward, with two goals in the first half assisted by Fermín (minutes 28 and 37), set the tone for the home side. Villarreal responded at the start of the second half with a goal from P. Gueye (minute 49), assisted by S. Mourino, but Yamal reappeared in the 69th minute, this time with an assist from Pedri, to seal his hat-trick. Robert Lewandowski completed the rout in the 90th minute, assisted by J. Kounde. The match was intense and hard-fought, reflected in several yellow cards, three for Barcelona (M. Bernal, H. Flick and Raphinha), and two for Villarreal (Marcelino and A. Pedraza). Despite dominating possession (74%) and shots on target (8), Barcelona encountered stiff resistance from Villarreal, who although they had less possession (26%) and scoring opportunities (1 shot on target), fought until the end. The match, refereed by Isidro Diaz de Mera Escuderos, was played on matchday 26 of La Liga, 2025 season, in a Camp Nou dedicated to its team.
