Clube Desportivo das Aves (AVS) defeated Santa Clara 2-1 in a thrilling match played at the Estádio Clube Desportivo das Aves in Vila das Aves, Portugal. The game, corresponding to matchday 21 of the Primeira Liga, was marked by intensity and a fight for possession. Santa Clara took the lead with a goal from Ricardinho in the 51st minute. However, AVS managed to turn the score around. First, an own goal by A. Santos in the 55th minute tied the match. In the final minutes, despite yellow cards for J. Grau (50′) and A. Santos (81′) for AVS, and for J. Costa (68′) for Santa Clara, G. Rodrigues scored the winning goal for AVS in the 90th minute, assisted by Nene. AVS dominated possession (64%), taking 9 shots (3 on target), while Santa Clara had 8 shots (4 on target), with 36% possession. Although Santa Clara committed 15 fouls compared to AVS’s 11, AVS secured the victory.
