Alverca Turns the Game Around and Defeats AVS in Thrilling Match
Vila das Aves witnessed a vibrant match where Alverca managed to come back from an adverse score to take the victory against AVS. The match, corresponding to the 8th round of the Portuguese Primeira Liga, ended with a score of Alverca 3 – AVS 1.
AVS started strongly, opening the scoring early in the 10th minute thanks to a goal by Pedro Lima, assisted by D. Rivas. However, Alverca did not give up and managed to equalize the score just before the break, in the 45th minute, with a goal by Amorim.
The second half was dominated by Alverca. In the 52nd minute, Figueiredo put Alverca ahead on the scoreboard with a goal after an assist from Lincoln. Alverca even celebrated a goal by Sandro Lima in the 76th minute, but it was disallowed after VAR review. In added time, G. Esteves sealed the match with a goal in the 90th minute, assisted by Sandro Lima, although he was cautioned immediately afterwards.
