Avaí Dominates América Mineiro with a 3-0 Victory in Florianópolis
Avaí secured a convincing 3-0 win over América Mineiro at the Estádio Aderbal Ramos da Silva in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, on April 26th, 2025, in a Serie B Brazilian Championship match. Despite América Mineiro’s superior possession (70%), Avaí proved more clinical in front of goal.
The match was characterized by numerous yellow cards; five for América Mineiro (Ricardo Silva, Marlon, Kauã Diniz, Cauã Barros, and F. Elizari) and two for Avaí (Eduardo Brock and JP). Avaí took the lead in the 33rd minute through a goal by JP. In the second half, Avaí sealed the victory with goals from Railan in the 87th minute and Gaspar in the 90th minute. Despite more shots (15 to 14) and possession, América Mineiro failed to overcome Avaí’s strong defense and lack of finishing.
