Red Bull Salzburg Rout Austria Vienna at Generali Arena
Red Bull Salzburg convincingly defeated Austria Vienna 4-1 in the fourth round of the 2024 Austrian Bundesliga Championship Round, played at the Generali Arena in Vienna on April 20th, 2025. The match, refereed by Christian-Petru Ciochirca, saw Salzburg dominate possession with 53%.
Salzburg took an early lead with goals from Y. Vertessen (8′) and D. Nene (11′), both assisted by A. Terzic. M. Malone pulled one back for Austria Vienna in the 17th minute, but the home side couldn’t mount a serious comeback. Nene added his second goal from the penalty spot in the 64th minute. The game featured several yellow cards, three for each team, and an Austria Vienna goal disallowed for offside. Despite the possession advantage and more goal attempts, Austria Vienna showed some grit and fight to make it a hard-fought win for the visitors.
