León staged a thrilling comeback against Atlético San Luis at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramírez, securing a 2-3 victory. The match, part of the Clausura 2024 Liga MX round 7, played on February 17th in San Luis Potosí, was a back-and-forth affair. Santiago Mendoza gave León an early lead in the 2nd minute, but Atlético San Luis quickly responded with a goal from S. Salles-Lamonge in the 22nd minute. The second half saw tension rise with a yellow card for R. Torres of Atlético San Luis in the 67th minute. León regained the lead in the 87th minute through a goal by P. Bellon. Atlético San Luis managed to score again in the 90th minute from a missed penalty by Salles-Lamonge, but it was not enough to prevent their loss. León’s efficiency in front of goal proved decisive, despite Atlético San Luis’s dominance in possession (59% vs 41%). The match ended with two yellow cards for León and one for San Luis.
