Atlético Paranaense Secures Narrow Victory Against Operario-PR in Tense Match
Curitiba, Paraná – Atlético Paranaense took all three points in a hard-fought match against Operario-PR at the Ligga Arena, in a game marked by intensity and controversy. The only goal of the match came early, in the 9th minute, courtesy of G. Benavidez, with an assist from Patrick, giving the home team the initial lead.
However, the joy was short-lived for Paranaense fans, as a goal by Leozinho was disallowed for offside after VAR review in the 21st minute. The match became increasingly contested in midfield, reflected in the yellow cards shown to Boschilia (Operario-PR), G. Benavidez and Patrick (both Atlético Paranaense), Diogo Mateus and J. Giraldo (both Operario-PR) and Felipinho (Atlético Paranaense).
Although Operario-PR dominated possession with 64% compared to Atlético Paranaense’s 36%, they failed to capitalize on their superiority in play.
