Madrid, Spain – A hard-fought match took place at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano where Atlético de Madrid managed to overcome Valencia in a game full of intensity and key moments. Atlético, with 46% possession, capitalized on their chances against a Valencia side that dominated the ball with 54%.
Koke opened the scoring for Atlético in the 17th minute with a goal that ignited the stands. However, Valencia did not back down and relentlessly sought the equalizer. The match was marked by tension, with several yellow cards shown to Atlético players (Pubill, Sorloth, Simeone and Almada) and one for Valencia (Duro). A goal by Pepelu for Valencia was disallowed by VAR due to an offside position, generating controversy.
