Athletic Club defeats Real Sociedad in thrilling Basque derby
Athletic Club triumphed over Real Sociedad with a 2-0 victory this Saturday, February 16th, 2025, in an exciting derby held at San Mamés Barria, refereed by Elisabeth Calvo. Despite having less possession (43%), the Lionesses showed greater efficiency in front of goal. Ane Azkona was the heroine of the match, scoring both Athletic goals (27th and 59th minutes), assisted by Claudia Pinedo and Sonia Ortega respectively.
