Ashdod defeats Ironi Kiryat Shmona in a thrilling Ligat Ha’al match
The match played on May 10th, 2025, at the Yud-Alef Stadium in Ashdod, corresponding to the 7th round of the Ligat Ha’al Relegation Round, ended with a 4-2 victory for the home team. The encounter was marked by high intensity, with numerous yellow cards and goals for both teams.
Ashdod dominated in terms of goal-scoring opportunities, with 17 shots (8 on target), and although possession was quite balanced (49% for Ashdod and 51% for Ironi Kiryat Shmona), the home side proved more effective. M. Kanaan and R. Levy scored penalties in the 49th and 55th minutes respectively, while I. Coll scored the third in the 61st minute. E. Mamatah sealed the win in the 90th minute. Ironi Kiryat Shmona scored two goals in the second half, courtesy of D. Kulikov (63rd minute) and R. Zikri (71st minute), but it wasn’t enough to prevent the defeat.
The match was also marked by disciplinary issues, with a total of five yellow cards (two for Ashdod and three for Ironi Kiryat Shmona).
