Atalanta defeats Roma in a thrilling encounter at the Stadio Olimpico
Rome, December 2nd, 2024 – Atalanta secured a victory against AS Roma in a hard-fought match at the Stadio Olimpico, corresponding to Matchday 14 of Serie A. The game, officiated by Marco Guida, was characterized by intensity and the visiting team’s clinical finishing. Despite a fairly even possession (51% for Atalanta and 49% for Roma), Atalanta created significantly more scoring chances, with 18 shots (7 on target) compared to Roma’s 4 (1 on target).
The deadlock was broken in the 69th minute with a goal by Marten De Roon. The second goal arrived in the 89th minute, courtesy of substitute Nicolo Zaniolo, assisted by Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.
Roma struggled to find a way back into the game despite periods of dominance.
