Arsenal Defeats Brighton in League Cup Clash
London, England – Arsenal secured a victory over Brighton in a match played at the Emirates Stadium for the League Cup Round 4. Despite an even game in ball possession (Arsenal 51%, Brighton 49%), Arsenal capitalized on their chances, while Brighton, although generating more shots (16 against Arsenal’s 14), failed to translate their dominance into goals.
The match remained tight until the 58th minute, when Ethan Nwaneri, assisted by M. Lewis-Skelly, opened the scoring for Arsenal. The lead was extended in the 76th minute thanks to a goal by Bukayo Saka. Brighton, who received two yellow cards (D. Coppola in the 34th minute and O. Boscagli in the 86th minute), couldn’t find a way to break down the Arsenal defense. Arsenal had 14 shots, 5 of which were on target, while Brighton also had 5 shots on target out of their 16 attempts. The “Gunners” had more corners in their favor with 7, while Brighton could only execute 2.
