Arsenal edged out Brentford 2-1 in a thrilling match at the Emirates Stadium in London. Despite dominating possession with 64%, the Gunners struggled to convert their numerous chances. Arsenal had 13 shots, but only 3 were on target. Thomas Partey scored for Arsenal in the 61st minute, assisted by Declan Rice, opening the scoring. Brentford, with 36% possession, proved their attacking efficiency. Ivan Toney netted the equalizer in the 74th minute, assisted by Nathan Collins. Brentford’s late pressure wasn’t enough to overcome the initial lead. Yellow cards were shown to Christian Nørgaard (28′) and Kevin Schade (34′) for Brentford, and Martin Ødegaard (90′) for Arsenal. Arsenal also had a goal disallowed for offside in the 26th minute. The match, part of the Premier League 2024-2025, round 32, was officiated by English referee Simon Hooper.
