Braga Absolutely Dominates Arouca in a Match Marked by Early Dismissal
Arouca, Portugal – SC Braga convincingly defeated Arouca in a Primeira Liga match that was defined from the early stages. The early dismissal of J. Fontan, after receiving two yellow cards in the 15th minute, completely conditioned the development of the game.
Braga, with an overwhelming 85% possession, controlled the pace of the game from start to finish. Despite R. Horta missing a penalty in the 26th minute, the team quickly opened the scoring, thanks to an own goal by N. Mantl, also in the 26th minute.
R. Horta made up for his previous error by scoring a goal in the 31st minute, extending Braga’s lead. Another own goal, this time by Alex Pinto just before halftime, further consolidated Braga’s dominance.
In the second half, Braga continued to press and G. Lagerbielke sealed the match with a goal in the 71st minute. Arouca, with one player less and a testimonial possession of 15%, could barely trouble the opponent’s goal, adding only two shots, one on target and one off target. Braga, on the other hand, generated 18 shots, six of them on target.
The match, marked by Braga’s numerical and tactical superiority, leaves Arouca in a difficult situation in the standings.
