Arouca Edges Out Estrela in Tense Match
Arouca defeated Estrela Amadora in a hard-fought match at the Estádio Municipal de Arouca, in the 30th round of the Portuguese Primeira Liga. The game, officiated by Bruno Vieira, ended 2-0, although the scoreline doesn’t entirely reflect the even nature of the contest.
Arouca controlled possession (57%), registering 19 shots, 6 of which were on target. However, the home side struggled for efficiency in the first half. A Trezza goal was disallowed for offside in the 6th minute. Tension mounted, with four yellow cards shown to Arouca players (Fontan, Jason, Alex Pinto, and Pedro Santos), and yellow cards also given to Estrela’s Jovane and Ruiz.
