El Salvador Overwhelms Anguilla in The Valley
El Salvador displayed a dominant performance against Anguilla at the Raymond E. Guishard Technical Centre in The Valley, in a match corresponding to the second round of the CONCACAF World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. El Salvador demonstrated clear superiority from the start, reflected in ball possession (86%) and the number of shots taken (38), 13 of which were on target.
The first goal came in the 30th minute, courtesy of S. Ortiz. Shortly before halftime, B. Gil Hurtado extended the lead in the 45th minute, assisted by N. Ordaz. In the second half, at minute 77, E. Alvarado Sanchez sealed the final score, with an assist from A. Larin.
Anguilla, on the other hand, fought bravely but was outmatched by the technical and tactical superiority of their opponent. With 14% ball possession and without taking a single shot on target, the home team was unable to trouble the El Salvador goal. The match concluded with a clear El Salvador victory, strengthening their path towards the World Cup.
