Angers and Rennes Settle for Intense Draw at Stade Raymond Kopa
Angers and Rennes played to a 1-1 draw in a hard-fought match at the Stade Raymond Kopa, in the third round of Ligue 1. The match, refereed by Marc Bollengier, was characterized by physical play and several yellow cards.
Rennes took the lead in the 21st minute thanks to a goal by E. Lepaul, assisted by Q. Merlin. However, Angers did not give up and managed to equalize in the 51st minute with a goal by P. Peter, who received the assist from Y. Belkhdim.
Despite having more ball possession (63%), Rennes failed to convert their dominance into more goals. Angers, with 37% possession, was effective in taking advantage of one of their opportunities.
