Goalless Draw in a Tactical and Hard-Fought Match Between Anderlecht and Antwerp
Brussels, September 20, 2025 – Anderlecht and Antwerp played to a 0-0 draw at the Lotto Park in a match corresponding to the eighth round of the Jupiler Pro League. The match, refereed by Eric Lambrechts, was characterized by an overwhelming dominance of possession by Anderlecht (68%), although it did not translate into a favorable score.
Anderlecht tried to impose its offensive game with 18 shots, but only 2 found the opponent’s goal, while 8 went wide. They obtained 7 corner kicks, but failed to capitalize on them. Antwerp, on the other hand, fell back and opted for a more direct game, generating 6 shots, with only 1 on target.
The game was sometimes fragmented due to the numerous fouls, 9 committed by Anderlecht and 13 by Antwerp. The referee showed a total of five yellow cards, three for Anderlecht players (Huerta Valera, Vazquez and Saliba) and two for Antwerp (Al Sahafi and Kouyate).
