Amiens Mounts Comeback to Defeat Rodez in Hard-Fought Match
Amiens, France – In a match full of twists and turns, Amiens secured an important home victory against Rodez on matchday 11 of Ligue 2. Rodez took an early lead in the 4th minute with a goal by I. Balde, making things difficult for the home team. The first half was characterized by a contested game, with several fouls and yellow cards for both sides.
In the second half, Amiens came out with a different attitude and managed to turn the score around. J. Mlakar equalized the match in the 60th minute. Shortly after, in the 72nd minute, I. Hamache made it 2-1 with a goal assisted by Y. Ikia Dimi.
Despite Rodez having more shots on target (7 against Amiens’ 4) and more corners (4 against 1), Amiens’ greater ball possession (57%) and their effectiveness in the second half were decisive in securing the victory. The match was played at the Stade de la Licorne in Amiens and was refereed by Abdelatif Kherradji.
