América de Cali Defeats Rionegro Águilas in a Hard-Fought and Controversial Match
Santiago de Cali – In a thrilling match held at the Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero, América de Cali triumphed over Rionegro Águilas in a Colombian Primera A game marked by intensity and cards.
The scoring began in the 41st minute with a goal by L. Ramos for América de Cali, assisted by C. Barrios. However, the home side’s joy was tempered by a series of yellow cards shown to C. Tovar (43′) and J. Pineda (44′).
In the second half, D. Borrero extended América’s lead in the 49th minute, assisted by L. Ramos. Rionegro Águilas quickly responded with a goal by Yony Gonzalez in the 53rd minute, assisted by A. Oliveros, narrowing the gap on the scoreboard.
