Draw in Alverca after Drama and Own Goal
Alverca do Ribatejo witnessed a hard-fought match between Alverca and Tondela, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The match, corresponding to the fifth round of the Primeira Liga, was full of tension and key moments.
Tondela opened the scoring in the 43rd minute thanks to a goal by T. Manso. However, the joy was short-lived, as just a minute later, E. Maviram of Tondela scored an own goal, leveling the score for Alverca.
The second half continued with an intense pace, marked by yellow cards shown to B. Meupiyou of Alverca and Bebeto of Tondela. Despite the opportunities generated by both teams, the score remained unchanged. Tondela maintained a slight advantage in ball possession with 51% compared to Alverca’s 49%. Regarding shots, Tondela attempted more, with 14 total shots, 6 of which were on target. Alverca, on the other hand, took 12 shots, with 4 directed at the opponent’s goal. Referee Luis Carlos Mateus Filipe also cautioned Pedro Maranhao of Tondela in the final minutes.
