Albania Thrashes Andorra in Dominant Display
Tirana, March 24, 2025 – Albania secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Andorra at the Air Albania Stadium in a World Cup 2024 qualifying group stage match. Albanian dominance was overwhelming, reflected in 86% possession and 14 shots on goal, with 6 on target.
The match was opened early with a goal from R. Manaj in the 9th minute, assisted by K. Asllani. Manaj scored again in the 19th minute, this time assisted by A. Broja, leaving Andorra with a nearly impossible task. Albanian superiority continued until the end, sealing the victory with a goal from M. Uzuni in the 90th minute, assisted by A. Hoxha.
Andorra, on the other hand, had virtually no attacking options, failing to register a single shot on target throughout the match. Frustration was reflected in the 21 fouls committed by the visiting team, which also received two yellow cards. The referee for the match was Sebastian Gishamer of Austria.
