Al Wakrah Triumphs Over Al-Khor in Thrilling Stars League Match
Al Wakrah defeated Al-Khor 3-1 in an exciting Stars League match played at the Al-Khwar Stadium in Al-Khor, Qatar on February 27th, 2025. The game, part of round 17 of the 2024 season, saw Al Wakrah’s clinical finishing prove decisive.
F. Boulaya opened the scoring for Al Wakrah in the 23rd minute, assisted by A. Assal. Just six minutes later, Assal doubled the lead, with A. Scholz providing the assist. Al-Khor pulled one back in the 51st minute through R. Gomes, but Al Wakrah responded with a penalty converted by F. Boulaya in the 63rd minute to secure the victory. Despite a relatively even possession (52% for Al Wakrah, 48% for Al-Khor), Al Wakrah edged out Al-Khor in shots (13 to 12). Al Wakrah received one yellow card, while Al-Khor finished the game without any cautions. Two Al-Khor goals were disallowed for offside in the 84th and 90th minutes.
