Sharjah FC Edges Past Al Hussein in Tight AFC Cup Clash
Amman, Jordan – Sharjah FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Al Hussein in a thrilling AFC Cup encounter at the Amman International Stadium on Monday, February 11th, 2025. Despite Al Hussein dominating possession (64% to Sharjah’s 36%), Sharjah proved more clinical in front of goal. Caio Lucas scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute, assisted by O. Camara. Al Hussein, while enjoying more shots on target (2 to 2), failed to breach the Sharjah defense, which proved resolute throughout. Sharjah also dominated set pieces with 7 corners to Al Hussein’s 3. The match was characterized by a higher number of fouls committed by Sharjah (12) compared to Al Hussein (8). Despite late pressure from the home side, Sharjah held on to secure their place in the next round of the AFC Cup.
