Al-Hilal Dominates Al Sadd in AFC Champions League Clash
Riyadh witnessed a dynamic match at the Kingdom Arena, where Al-Hilal Saudi FC secured a victory against Al Sadd in a group stage encounter of the AFC Champions League. Al-Hilal’s dominance, reflected in 47% possession and a barrage of 20 shots, contrasted with Al Sadd’s lower offensive efficiency, only managing 3 shots.
Al-Hilal opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a goal by Y. Akcicek, assisted by K. Koulibaly. Koulibaly himself extended the lead in the 40th minute thanks to an assist from R. Neves. Al Sadd showed signs of a comeback in the second half, with a goal by Roberto Firmino in the 63rd minute, assisted by Pedro Miguel. However, a goal disallowed by VAR to Pedro Miguel in the 73rd minute frustrated the visiting team’s hopes of an equalizer. S. Milinkovic-Savic sealed the victory for Al-Hilal in the 81st minute. Kaio Cesar missed a penalty in the 90th minute.
The match was marked by intensity and contention, evidenced by the yellow cards shown to T. Salman, M. Camara, Paulo Otavio, and A. Al Yazidi for Al Sadd, and to D. Nunez for Al-Hilal.
