Al Wakrah edged out Al-Gharafa in a thrilling Stars League match played at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in Doha. The game, part of the 10th round of the 2024 season, ended with a 2-3 scoreline in favor of Al Wakrah.
The match started with a back-and-forth exchange, with Al Wakrah taking the lead in the 20th minute with a penalty goal scored by R. Gomes. Al-Gharafa responded before half-time, equalizing the score in the 45th minute thanks to a goal by A. Al Ganehi. The second half was even more exciting. Joselu put Al-Gharafa ahead in the 60th minute, but an own goal by Lucas Mendes in the 75th minute restored the advantage to Al Wakrah. Despite Al-Gharafa’s late pressure, Al Wakrah held on for the victory.
