Al Riyadh edges out Al Akhdoud in a thrilling encounter
Al Riyadh secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Al Akhdoud in a captivating match at the Prince Hathloul Bin Abdul Aziz Sport City Stadium in Najran. Despite dominating possession with 63%, it was the visitors who capitalized on their chances.
The match started at a frantic pace with both teams displaying their ambition right from the off. Al Riyadh had the first clear chance in the 15th minute when Mensah received a yellow card for a foul on an Al Akhdoud player. However, Al Akhdoud responded strongly and Kone almost opened the scoring in the 39th minute, but his goal was ruled out by VAR.
