Al-Akhdoud Stages Late Comeback to Defeat Al-Ahli Jeddah in Thrilling Encounter
Al-Akhdoud secured a dramatic victory over Al-Ahli Jeddah in a thrilling match played at the Prince Hathloul Bin Abdul Aziz Sport City Stadium in Najran on March 15th, 2025. Al-Ahli Jeddah took the lead in the 28th minute with an own goal by Lowe. However, Al-Akhdoud mounted a late comeback, scoring two goals in the 90th minute through Al Abbas and Saviour to claim a 2-1 win. The game was characterized by intense play, with numerous yellow cards (six for Al-Akhdoud and four for Al-Ahli Jeddah), and an early goal disallowed for Al-Ahli Jeddah in the 15th minute due to a foul. Despite having more possession (54%) and shots (14), Al-Akhdoud’s effectiveness in the final minutes proved decisive. Al-Ahli Jeddah, with 46% possession, managed 12 shots but couldn’t hold onto their lead. The referee for the match was Anastasios Sidiropoulos from Greece.
