Al Ahly Dominates Pharco in Goal-Filled, Eventful Match
Cairo, Egypt – In a vibrant match held at Cairo International Stadium, Al Ahly convincingly defeated Pharco with a final score of 4 to 1. The match, part of the second round of the Egyptian Premier League’s regular season, was marked by Al Ahly’s superior ball possession (64%) and greater effectiveness in front of goal.
M. Sherif opened the scoring for Al Ahly in the 10th minute, assisted by M. Hany. Despite a goal by Trezeguet being disallowed for offside in the 15th minute, Zizo extended Al Ahly’s lead in the 21st minute, with an assist from M. Ben Romdhane. Zizo once again made his presence felt on the scoreboard in the 59th minute, this time assisted by A. Bencharki, consolidating his team’s advantage.
Pharco attempted to react and reduced the deficit in the 70th minute thanks to a goal by M. Fakhri. However, Al Ahly sealed the victory in the 81st minute with a goal by N. Gradisar, assisted once again by M. Hany.
The match was not without disciplinary incidents. A. Dieng and M. Sherif, for Al Ahly, and M. Ahmed, M. Shika, and Y. El Mallah, for Pharco, received yellow cards. The encounter culminated in the sending off of M. Hany from Al Ahly, for a double booking, in the 90th minute.
Despite Al Ahly’s superior possession and shots (11 total shots, 6 on target), Pharco tried to create danger with 8 shots (2 on target) and earned 3 corner kicks, compared to none from the home team. The intensity of the game was reflected in the number of fouls committed by both teams (9 each).
