Al Ahly Edges Out Mamelodi Sundowns in Thrilling CAF Champions League Semi-Final
Cairo, April 25, 2025 – Al Ahly secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in a tense CAF Champions League semi-final clash at the Cairo International Stadium. T. Mohamed’s early goal, assisted by E. Ashour in the 24th minute, proved to be the difference.
Despite Mamelodi Sundowns enjoying a significant possession advantage (60%), Al Ahly proved more clinical in front of goal, registering 10 shots (3 on target) compared to Sundowns’ 8 (3 on target). Sundowns had 4 corners to Al Ahly’s none.
